Titre qui conclue l'excellent album « I'm Breathless ». Si l'album est la bande originale du film « Dick Tracy », ce titre n'en fait pas partie, il n'a été mis à la fin du disque que pour lui assurer un tube. Pour ma part, c'est quasiment le seul morceau de l'album que je n'aime pas, c'est du Madonna lambda, fait pour danser, alors que le reste de l'album est bourré de pépites jazzy.
Chanson qui parle à la fois de l'univers du mannequinat, du star system hollywoodien, mais aussi de ce courant musical et de danse urbaine qui prend son essor à ce moment-là : le "Vogue" ou "Voguing", très présent encore dans les milieux branchouilles de grandes cités, comme Paris, par exemple.
Ce titre est le trentième single sorti de Madonna, et le troisième plus gros Hit de la chanteuse (8.5 millions d'exemplaires vendus dans le monde). Au top 50 national, le single a fait son entrée à la place 20 le 05 Mai 1990, cumulé 20 semaines de présence (soit tout l'été de cette année), et obtenu 2 fois des top 9 en meilleures places. Bon score, mais loin d'être parmi les meilleurs pour la chanteuse en France.
Le vidéo-clip (où l'on voit des poses et attitudes de danse "voguing"), très esthétique, en noir et blanc, a été réalisé par un petit jeunot, à l'époque, un certain David Fincher, qui faisait ses premières armes dans ce domaine avant de passer au grand écran cinéma.
